KAJIAN ESTETIKA STRUKTUR RANGKA RUANG PADA ATAP GELANGGANG OLAH RAGA LILA BHUANA

Abstract

Wide-span structural systems enable the creation of column-free spaces with extensive spans. GOR Lila Bhuana is a sports hall that applies a wide-span structural system by utilizing a space frame structure for its roof. The roof structure spans 35 meters in width and 60 meters in length, functioning as a shelter for spectators during various sports activities such as futsal, basketball, pencak silat, and volleyball. The selection of the space frame structure is based on structural requirements for wide spans while maintaining the building’s aesthetic value. This study aims to examine the concept of wide-span buildings, evaluate the type of structure applied, and assess the aesthetic aspects of the space frame roof structure at GOR Lila Bhuana. A qualitative descriptive method was employed through direct observation and documentation. The results indicate that the applied space frame structure, classified as a space truss, successfully creates a wide column-free space and presents a strong, orderly, and visually expressive structural form.
