Abstract

Waste is one of the main problems facing Indonesian cities today. One of the causes is miss waste management due to the unavailability of adequate facilities and infrastructure. As in one area in Bali, namely Sidakarya, which does not yet have a proper waste management site, it is necessary to re-design a 3R-based Waste Treatment Site with the Reuse, Reduce, Recycle system. The accumulation of waste in the TPS is a sign of the lack of a waste management system in that area. Appropriate and good waste processing is expected to lead the public to understand how to process waste properly and can also help relieve the task of cleaning workers to protect the surrounding environment. This paper aims to understand waste problems and provide recommendations for the design of waste processing sites at TPS Mertasari and provide education on how to optimally manage waste so as to minimize waste accumulation in the landfill.
